|
Is it possible to add an online source to the monitoring list by myself? |
You can create your own monitoring list from sources
that are already being monitored by the system - in case you need to monitor
selected sources rather than all sources. This monitoring list is fixed using
the 'saved request' option. And such saved requests can be either personal
(available only for use under one username/password of the user who created
this saved request) or public (when one user of the account creates a saved request
and other users of the account can use this saved request). If you want to
connect new sources to be scanned by the system, only system administrators
are allowed to do so. You can send specific sources you are interested in to
your support manager. |

Working in the system |
||
How can I exclude all publications from a certain media type, e.g. reviews, from the news feed in Semantrum? |
The display of media types in the publication feed is controlled by the system users themselves using the interface settings (click on the hamburger next to the system logo). All publications in the e-mail newsletters will be displayed, not only the ones that are visible after applying the interface settings. If the user does not need certain types of media in a particular topic, they can be disabled in the topic settings. If the topic was created by the user, he/she can make these changes individually. If the topic was set up by the support manager, you should communicate with your support manager. |
|
What are duplicates and what is the difference between duplicates and grouped publications? |
Duplicates are reposts of the same text in different sources (they are identical, the text is 99% similar). And grouped publications can be a combination of the same news, written with different words and with different titles. Grouped publications are classified based on the presence of the same keywords/similarity of the topic. They are not always duplicates. These are publications that may be similar in 30% but the system has determined by its algorithm that these publications relate to the same topic grouped publications. Now publications about the same topic but in different languages are not collected in one grouped publications. For example, the same news in Russian and Ukrainian will be divided by system into two different grouped publications. |
|
I search at the top of the right-hand column for information and do not find it in the system |
Please note: in the interface with topic, the search is only performed for publications that have been pre-selected in the topics, but not for the whole media base. For all media searches in the entire media archive you have to use another system interface - Media archive search (this is a separate tariff).
What are important/large sources, and how do you identify them? |
Large/important sources are determined by the size of source's audience (the number of page views of the site in total per month).
How is audience coverage calculated? |
Semantrum system uses forecuste audience coverage. At the moment of scanning and uploading a new publication into the system, the audience coverage is calculated. Each media type has its own way of measuring the audience. For TV - TV viewers according to ITC, for press - circulation, for web sources - monthly coverage according to Similar Web, for social networks and messengers - number of subscribers. Read more about coverage for different types of media here. |

It is possible, but only in the dashboard. Client's logo or other images may be there too.
Is it possible to set the intervals for day, week, month, etc. in the schedules? |
The graphs and dashboards have this option.
Topics |
||
Topic is one keyword, could there be more? |
There can be many keywords in a topic, but they have to be logically connected ( it is not a good idea to monitor company and competitor mentions in the same topic) and the search query used in the topic has a character limit of 3072 characters.
How many publications can there be in one topic? |
There is no limit to the number of publications. A limit is only imposed on the depth of the archive (in months or years) in which publications accumulated on a topic are stored. There is a limit when creating a new topic: the system will not allow you to create a topic with more than 50,000 publications per month.
What is the topic's loading speed? |
If the question is about how quickly publications are pulled into a new topic that has just been created, it depends on the number of publications to be pulled and the workload of system. Accordingly, this process usually takes from 10 minutes to an hour, in some cases it can take longer, up to 2-3 hours.
Can users add topics by themselves? |
Yes, you can create or modify monitoring topics on your own. This option is available to users with a role that allows them to create and edit topics in the account. However, topics created by Semantrum system managers cannot be modified by system users.
If I am interested in publications on my topic, but only from certain sources, can I set it up that way? |
You can filter the information in the topic by source (or any other filters you are interested in) and save the query. Further, you can use the saved query to apply it to the required publication period, thus only publications from the sources specified in the saved query will be displayed in the feed. It is also useful to send new publications to an e-mail for a saved query. If you are interested in receiving information from certain sources, please contact your support manager to set up such a topic.
Is it possible to change topics? |
You can, but no more than one topic per week, or more if the changes are not frequent. |
|
Tags |
||
What is a tag? |
It is a label that can be placed automatically or manually on publication texts. It is a kind of classification feature. Tags allow you to filter publications, generate graphs and export data to a report. Semantrum Manager can help you set up automatic tagging (autotagging) in cases where tags should always be applied to publications based on the same attributes (keywords and other settings). |
|
What is the difference between a topic and a tag? |
The difference is that by keywords in topics, publications are collected in the account and grouped into topics. The autotag settings only categorise and group the publications in topics. Autotags and tags are marks/classification attributes on publications. That is, the publication is first added to a topic and then it is/is not autotagged, depending on whether it fits the autotag setting.
How do I set up autotags? |
Autotags are set up by Semantrum support managers. If autotags are included in your price package, you can send your manager a list of autotags. Autotagging is usually set up during one working day.
Can new autotags be put in publications that have been collected in topic before? |
Yes, new autotags can be added to publications dating back up to 3 months from today.
Tone of voice |
||
What do the multi-coloured vertical stripes in the news list mean? |
These are colour indicators of the tone of the publication: red - negative, blue - neutral, green - positive.
Why can one mention have a two- or three-colour tone indicator? |
Because the tone of voice of mentions of the monitored object is determined for each topic. If a certain publication is in two (or more) topics and you have chosen to view two (or more) topics at the same time, for cases where the publication tones for different topics are not the same, the indicator shows each of these tones for the topics.
How is the tone of the publication defined in Semantrum? |
In each topic, the tone of the publications is determined in relation to its keywords. That is, it is not a question of document tone in general, but of object-oriented tone. Tone is determined using AI technology.

||
Will I have a dashboard in my account? |
Dashboards are available depending on the tariff package. However, there are basic graphs in the system in every tariff package that satisfy the basic needs of visualising statistical data.
