Newsletters (allerts) in Semantrum: overview of functions

With Semantrum users can subscribe to the newsletter as a report, digest or list of publications in docx. or xlsx format to stay up-to-date on media events around a brand, person or other important topic.

The newsletters allow you to:
​Receive a list of new mentions by topic in the body of the email and/or in a generated report;
  • Select the channel for sending newsletters (e-mail or Telegram, for you personally or to a group);
  • Receive allerts on the appearance of new mentions according to a selected schedule or in real time;
  • To get a weekly or daily brief digest of the key PR-activity indicators: weekly dynamics of mentions, tone of voice, role in the publications;
  • Setting up the newsletter according to a personal set of filters with the help of saved queries.
    • Three types of newsletters are available to users - newsletters based on new publications by topic, digests by topic, and newsletters based on saved queries.

    Newsletters by topic

    If you want to receive a list or report on the latest publications on your topic or topics in Semantrum, you should subscribe to the newsletter of the selected topic. You can subscribe to more than one newsletter without limitation.

    1. You can customize the following additional settings for newsletters on new additions to headings:
    2. Select the format to display the newsletter as a list of publications in an email and/or as an attachment in an email;
    3. sending time (select the schedule of mailings for each day of the week or select real time);
    4. Channel for sending (e-mail or Telegram);
    5. Types of attachments (can be received only via e-mail) - press clipping (list of publications), storyline press clipping (more about storyline), shortened mention texts (more about shortened texts), automatic reports in docx. or .xlsx format, storyline press clipping, special exports with sorting by user needs (set up by managers at your request).

    Please note:

    Attachments can only be selected if the mailing channel is e-mail and if scheduled mailing mode is selected.

    Saving queries newsletters

    Saving queries is useful if you often use a certain set of filters within the thematic feed or perform additional searches and would like to track the dynamics of publications by this state of the filters. You can receive e-mail or Telegram notifications when documents matching your saved query arrive in the system, and use other alert settings, such as adding files as attachments, subscribing to digests, etc. Learn more about setting up saved queries.

    Examples of setting up mailings for saved requests

    The following saved queries and newsletters can be set up for one topic
    1. Only negative publications,
    2. Only publications from specific sources
    3. Only publications where certain words appear, etc.
    The following saved queries and newsletters can be set up for several topics:
    1. texts of publications on several topics in one newsletter,
    2. comparison of topics with each other, e.g. in competitive analysis.

    Digests

    Digests - are brief analytics on a topic for a constant period of time, where you see a report on the media activity on the topic by main metrics directly in the body of the email.

    You can choose from the following digests:
    1. Daily digests - sent at at a time of your choice every day, with weekends included, include analytics for the period from 00:01 to 23:59 of the previous day.
    2. Weekly Digests - sent on the day of the week and at the time of your choice, include analytics for for the full past 7 days. Contains a list of publications in Excel by default as an attachment.
    3. Monthly digests - sent at 9 a.m. on the 1st of the month, include analytics for the previous month. By default, they contain a monthly report in .pptx format as an attachment.
