Source characteristics: Source category

The source category is a source characteristic detailing the type of source. The most detailed source category is web sources. The media topics in the theme settings or in the filters can be used to select sources such as TV channel websites or websites of official Ukrainian authorities. You can also exclude news aggregator sites from the search results.

Aggregators - News aggregators, sites that do not create content by themselves, do not have their own (author's) content, but embed external material into their sites, or post news/story news and links to the original source.

Internet media - Web sources, news sites, the main category of web sources.

News agencies - Specialised information agency (organisation, service, centre) serving the media.

Blogs and microblogs - Web-based sources like a personal blog site or forums.

Closed newswires of NA - Closed news feeds of the NA or news sites connected separately with associated contractual work with the publication.

Catalogies - Sites without news content, with lists of services/products/announcements.

Corporate websites - Websites of businesses and companies.

TV channel websites - Websites of TV channels duplicating information from the TV channel.

Analytical agency websites - Organisations and social organisations that describe themselves as analytical agencies.

Public organizations websites - Associations, foundations, parties, churches and others.

Government websites - Any government organisation in any country.

Print media sites - New sites which duplicate printed newspapers.

Personal websites - Personal websites.

Radio station websites - News sites connected to radio stations.
