Standard search for companies/organizations

Companies, organizations and government agencies are one of the most frequently monitored objects. To correctly write the name of the organization, use quotes and symbols in order to take changes in word endings into account. Learn more about searching for word phrases. Read more about how to consider different word endings.

For example: "Space X"|SpaceX

There are texts that mention "Space X" or "SpaceX" in different spellings. If you need to find mentions in different languages, you should also take into account their spelling in the search query, you can add spelling variants of the monitored object using the OR operator (symbol | Read more about simultaneous search in several languages and several objects in a topic.). Read more about simultaneous search in several languages and several objects in a topic.

Please note:
  1. If you enter a phrase or several words without using special characters, you will get posts in which these words will not be next to each other in the text, but in different parts of it, and will not refer to the desired company/organization, so always use quotes."
  2. For more information about searching by phrase, see How to search a topic by phrase.
  3. Details about the use of the ]N and * symbols in words can be found in the article How to consider different word endings.

Advanced search for companies/organizations

Very often, the media or social networks write about the same company using various abbreviations or short spellings. Therefore, if you need to include all possible spellings of the monitored object in your research, you should add them to the search query. Learn more about searching for abbreviations and taking into account a wide range of word endings.

Thus, by adding a variety of spellings, we covered more publications and expanded our monitoring.

How to exclude irrelevant results using ! and & symbols

To remove certain words from the search and get the most relevant results, it is important to use stop words. Learn more about excluding keywords from your search (stop words).
If we are looking for publications about a company or organization in another language, for example, the "North Atlantic Treaty Organization", it is better to intersect the part of the query in another language with auxiliary words that may occur in context with this object. To get the most relevant results, use the & symbol.

For example: ("North Atlantic Treaty Organization"|NATO) & (Ukraine)

Fill in the "Highlighted Words" section
  1. This is an important element of topic creation, as it is the words that will determine the tone of voice, role of the publications, and Direct speech (learn more about defining tone of voice, role, and Direct speech). Filling in this field also sets up the underlining for the words in that topic. If word highlighting needs to be changed on a topic that you did not create, contact your support manager or write to the Chat.
  2. The word/phrase can be no longer than 20 characters. You can add multiple words/phrases, but this field also has a symbol limit.
  3. If no word in the highlighted keyword field is entered when you create a topic, all publications in that topic will be neutral and also will not have an automatically defined role.
Please note:
  1. Only the main keywords should be added to the highlighted words, for which the tone of voice and role should be determined. If you used additional keywords to clarify a query (e.g. query ("North Atlantic Treaty Organization"|NATO) & (Ukraine) to get information about company activity only in combination with a mention of the word Ukraine, it is not necessary to add the additional word Ukraine to the highlighted words. It is also important to enter all main keywords in the highlighted words field, as publications that match the topic query, but where no word/phrase matches the highlighted keywords, will have a neutral tone and will not have an automatic role.
  1. If you create a topic by yourself, please contact your support manager or write to the chat in the system to enable ML tone for the topic.
