Publication types

Publication types

The system recognises 4 types of mentions:
  1. Publication/post
  2. Repost
  3. Extended repost
  4. Comment
These types of mentions generally refer to social media and in order to allow for filtering through these parameters in the data set with different types of media, all publications in internet media, print press, TV and radio stories are included in the publication/post type of mentions.

The repost, extended repost and comment are displayed on the publication card in the newsfeed.

The publication/post is not displayed on the publication, unless you see another label on the publication, it is Publication/Post.

The coverage of posts is calculated based on the number of subscribers according to a separate algorithm for each social network. Comments do not get coverage. Learn how Media View Forecast is calculated.

Using the filter by publication type

You can filter the mentions found by type of publication.

Select the publication types filter in the filter bar and select the required items.

The filter allows you to select several items and also negate them.

That is, if you need to cull all posts, reposts and augmented reposts, you can negate comments and get the desired result that way.

If you want to return to displaying all publication types, press the "CLEAR" button in this filter.

Data about publication types in the exports

Data about the type of each publication can be obtained in the export of the list of mentions in .xlsx format.

The export file contains the column Publication type. The data can be used to build analytics on its own, as well as in individual dashboards.

Enjoy using the Semantrum system!
