Social media monitoring

Social media monitoring

Social networks monitored by Semantrum:
  1. Facebook
  2. Youtube
  3. Twitter
  4. Instagram
  5. Telegram
  6. TikTok
  7. LinkedIn
Every social network is scanned in a different way, depending on its structure and technical limits. Only public information is monitored. Semantrum can collect information from social networks in any language. The specifics of the social network determine the monitoring options, which a support manager can help you with. In general, most social networks Semantrum can monitor by direct search for keywords and hashtags, collect information from a specific page in the social network and monitor mentions (@) of a specific page. You do not need to add your social media profile to receive data upon your request. You will also receive most of the information after the manager sets up keywords and hashtags at your request.

The system displays the following metrics/data from social media posts:
- views (for Facebook and Instagram - only for posts with video)
- number of likes/reactions
- division into types of reactions (8 types for Facebook and 9 types for Telegram)
- number of reposts
- number of comments
- age of the author (specified by the user in his/her profile)
- gender of the author (specified by the user in their profile)
- pages tagged in the post
- video availability
- presence of images
- presence of hyperlinks
- hashtags

For posts on social media, we also calculate the estimated coverage based on the number of subscribers using a separate algorithm for each social media platform. This estimate will allow you to navigate the importance of posts from those social networks that do not reflect the actual number of post views.  Learn more how audience coverage is calculated in the Semantrum.

Hashtags used in posts are also scanned in social networks. Hashtags can be used for filtering and searching in your Semantrum account, as well as for getting data in the .xlsx export of the list of posts. Learn more about search by hashtags.

You can also get visual insights from social media as the system saves images and videos from posts. View images from social networks in a special mode without opening individual posts. Learn more about viewing images in posts.

You can filter social media posts by the availability of a specific content element. For example, you can select all posts that contain videos (for YouTube and TV), images, hyperlinks, auto-transcribed text (for YouTube and TV), and tagged pages (for some social networks). Learn more about managing filters.

To make it easier to work with the data, the .xlsx downloads of the lists of posts contain not only the number of likes, shares, and comments for each post, but also aggregated data:
  1. reactions - the total number of reactions of different types (for Facebook and Telegram)
  2. engagement - the sum of reactions, comments and reposts
  3. engagement rate (ER) - the percentage of engagement from the number of followers of the source

Notes
Please note:
  1. Data is updated within the first 5 days after the post is published (for sources connected to the monitoring).
  2. Estimated coverage and engagement rate are calculated only for posts that the system has crawled from connected pages and are not calculated for posts found by keywords or hashtags.
  3. If you want all posts from certain social media pages and their mentions (with @) to be included in your topic, regardless of the presence of topic keywords in the posts, contact your support manager or write to the chat in the system.
  4. In the current version of the system, if you go to a post that has a mention(s), you can see the IDs of the pages mentioned in the post. In future versions, the names of the mentioned pages will be displayed.
  5. Posts that have videos are marked with a label. In some cases, the system cannot fetch the video from the social network. In such cases, there is a message in the post that the video can be viewed directly in the post. To watch the video, go to the original post by clicking on the link in the source title.
  6. For hashtag posts to get to a specific topic, you need to have hashtag words in your keywords, because often their spelling is different from regular keywords (spelling in Latin, no spaces, etc.).
