What is a dashboard?

A dashboard is a tool for visualizing monitoring results, a set of interactive graphs and indicators customized for one or more topics. Using dashboard makes data analysis much easier, because you get summarized data of your entire account in a comfortable form.

Semantrum specialists have created a standard dashboard that allows you to experience the main advantages of this method of data visualization. Standard dashboards enable you to monitor basic indicators (number of mentions, dynamics, coverage, tone distribution, source ratings, roles, topic comparison, tagged mentions, etc.) and metrics (Media Visibility Index, Media favorability index (MFI)), filter data by many parameters, get data by countries of mentioning sources on maps, analyze mentions in social networks. The dashboard is updated according to a schedule that can be customized to your needs.

In addition, the dashboard can be configured personally to your needs. You can add the necessary graphs, display the required totals, display KPIs, add the filters you need, change colors, and add your logo. The dashboard can use practically all characteristics of mentions you get in Semantrum, and add other metrics as you wish. You can also add any of your data to your personal dashboard, such as your website traffic data from Google Analytics.

Do I need a dashboard?

All it takes is one quick look at the first page of the dashboard to get a picture of the day. Key metrics in dynamics compared to the previous period will allow you to understand the risk factors or the media popularity of your selected topic.
Instead of graphical data presentation mode (automated visual analytics - charts mode), in dashboards you can get a deeper analysis of data, including in regard to audience coverage, comparison of more topics, etc. In customized dashboards, you can get an analysis of your personal metrics and KPIs, and you can customize the color scheme of the graphs to match the client's brand with a logo or other images.

Will I have a dashboard in my account?

Dashboard availability is determined by your tariff. Your sales manager will advise you about pricing packages or the ability to add a dashboard to your current account. If you want to know more about whether you need a dashboard, please write to your support manager or chat in the system.

How often are the dashboards updated?

The standard dashboard update frequency is once a day (at night or in the morning). But in some cases the update schedule can be customized for you.

What can I get from the standard dashboard?

Using the dashboard in Semantrum you can:
  1. collect and filter statistics on the number of mentions and audience coverage for your topic for a selected period;
  2. analyze the distribution of mentions by tone of voice, type of media, roles, by source countries (on the map) in percentage and quantitative indexes;
  3. visualize the key performance indicators: Media Visibility Index (MV)); Media favorability index (MFI);
  4. obtain a quantitative and qualitative comparison of competitors, track changes in indicators compared to the previous period;
  5. track the dynamics by tags:
  6. view source rankings by media type, influencer rankings on social networks;
  7. download graphs in the various types of data.

By default the dashboard consists of 4 pages:
  1. Topic Analysis;
  2. Topic comparison (in case you have more than 1 topic in your account);
  3. Tag Comparison (in case you have tags or autotags in your account);
  4. Sources and Influencers (at your request).

The first page "Topic Analysis" contains a wide set of charts and indicators that are used most often and provide comprehensive information about the topic: the number of mentions, audience coverage, tone, dynamics of mentions and coverage, media types, dynamics by media types, ratings of sources and authors, distribution by role , rating of source countries, countries of sources on the map, etc.
The second and third pages will give you a comparison of topics and tags with each other. You can also choose which topics/tags/tag types will be compared to the graphs in the filter panel. These dashboard pages allow you, for example, to compare your company and competitors' indicators (if your account is set up that way) or your company's speaker mentions (if your account is set up with such tags). In addition, you'll be able to see topic rankings by performance indicators (Media Visibility Index, Media Loyalty Index) and an integral visualization of the main topic/tag indicators in bubble charts.
The fourth page is dedicated to tables for analyzing sources and authors mentioning your topics and tags. You get to learn more about sources, analyze types of publications by topic and tags, analyze authors' social media behavior, and link to the original sources of posts/publications that interest you. This insight can be useful if you are looking for opportunities for new partnerships or need to track down authors of unusual activity in negative mentions of your brand.

How do I get started with the dashboard?

In order to view the dashboard, you need to make sure it is already connected to your account. If the dashboard is already connected to your account, you can view it by clicking on the "Infographics" tab in your account's main menu.

Done! The first page of your dashboard is in front of you and you can start working with interactive charts.

Please note:
  1. If you don't find the "Infographics" tab in the "Main Menu" and the dashboard should be in your account, please contact your support manager or write to the system chat.
  1. Sometimes when you open the dashboard, you may see a blank page with this logo , it means you need to wait a few minutes until the data is loaded :)

How to use the standard dashboard

Dashboard Navigation

To switch to a full-screen view of the dashboard, click in the upper right corner of the dashboard . In the upper corners of the dashboard, you will see a button to go to the next/previous page.
Some maps or charts have an information icon on them. If you put your cursor over this icon, you will get information about the metric on the chart or card, and if you click on this icon, you will go to the corresponding page in the knowledge base.

In the topic selection box on the first page of the dashboard, you must select the topic for which you want to view the infographic. The charts will immediately rebuild according to the data on the topic.
Some charts allow you to see additional data. For example, charts with media types have "Expand Social Media" buttons. If you click, you'll see detailed information on those graphs for specific social networks. If you click the button again, you'll return to viewing summary data for all social networks. Some charts allow you to switch to viewing relative (percentage) values. To do this, click the "Percentage" button.

Filters and interactivity

You can use the filters in the panel on the left side of the dashboard. You can select multiple values in the filters. To do this, hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and sequentially select the values you want. The selected filters are synced on all the pages of the dashboard. For example, if you select a certain period on the first page, you will get data on other dashboard pages for the same dates.
You can also click on any area of the charts, and the charts on that dashboard page will rebuild according to the parameter you selected. If you click on the negative section of the Contact Tone Distribution graph, all graphs on the page will rebuild according to the negative filter.

How do I clear the selected filters?

If you clicked on a filter directly on the widget and can't cancel it, just refresh the page to clear the filter status or click on the rubber band at the top of the topic selection box.

How to select the time step on the trend graphs

Depending on the period selected in the filter panel on the charts with the dynamics, you can select the time step. It allows you to select the following periods - day, month, year.
By default, the data in the dashboard is filtered for the last month, if you do not see the entire desired range in the date filter, please contact the support manager or write to the chat system.

Please note:
  1. Certain items are translated by the interface language of your browser in which you open the dashboard, such as the map on the country charts or the source area of origin, etc.
  1. Dashboard can only contain data that is displayed in your account, unless you provide the system with additional data.

Exporting Data

You can export the data for each chart in different formats .xlsx or .csv or as an image.

Enjoy using the Semantrum system!
