Mass tagging of publications

Mass tagging of publications

In the Semantrum system, users can add tags to publications - labels by which it is easy to analyze the data set in the future. You can also set up automatic tagging based on the presence of certain keywords in publications. Learn what tags are and how to use them?

In Semantrum, users have the ability to add/edit/delete tags on posts manually. Learn more about tagging posts.
If you need to highlight posts among the array of data, you should use the tool of mass manual tagging.

Search for publications in the topic/topics

First, you have to filter the publications by a certain parameter in order to create a tag. Take the example of searching for Twitter mentions in the topic "Elon Musk". If you need to find a word/person/company that has been mentioned with keywords in a certain topic, or if you want to check whether a publication has been included in a topic, use the Search field in the Filters panel. Read more about searching for publications in the topic(s).
If you need to refine the list of publications you want to export, try using a filter. For example, you can exclude a specific source or language of a publication in the filter. Learn more about managing filters. You can also select all the filtered posts and uncheck the ones you don't need.

Step 1. Select the desired topic/topics and press the OK button.
Step 2: Enter the words or phrases in the search field and press the OK button.
In this way, you receive the publications containing the search word(s) and reach the selected topic(s). The search results are highlighted in yellow in the publications to find the desired word in the text.

Mass tagging

When you have filtered posts by the desired parameters, you can proceed to mass tagging.
Review the posts in the feed if you are planning to add/delete tags to make sure that all of them need to be edited. Now you can add/delete tags on several posts or on the entire array. To do this, select all or the required posts and click on the tags icon in the posts action bar.

STEP 1. Select the publications you would like to tag
STEP 2. Click on the publications tagging icon.
You will see a tag control window in front of you.

STEP 3. Enter the desired tag or several tags.

If you need to add a tag to your post/s that has already been used before, you can start typing the name in the field and the system will suggest the appropriate tag. If you need to add a new tag, write its name and press Enter on your keyboard.

STEP 4. Click the "Add tags" or " Delete tags" button.

Notes
~!@#$%^&*()+=[{]}|\/,<>?;
The system can provide a tag with some of these, but they cause certain problems in mass tagging.

If you have selected many publications, the system needs a little time to process them. Done!

You can now use the mass tagging tool for your publications.

Notes
Please note:

  1. The number of available publications for mass operations is defined by your tariff package. Please note that in the test mode the number of available posts is 5, after obtaining commercial account this number will increase.
  2. Tags will change for all account users.

When you have finished working with tags, you can view the feed of posts in tag mode. Learn more about viewing in tag mode.
Users can manually edit/add/delete tags both for specific posts and for entire stories. Learn more about working with tags in the story view.

You can export posts that contain the tag(s) you selected, no matter what topic the posts with that tag(s) are in. To export posts by tag(s), switch to tag mode (read more about viewing in tag mode), select the tag(s) and choose the desired export format.

To get statistics for all or the tags you need, use the "Graphs" mode. Learn more about automatic visual analytics (Graphs mode). In addition, you can get detailed statistics by tags in the interactive dashboard. Learn more about what a dashboard is and what its features are. You can get data by tags in the export of the list of publications in .xlsx format for independent work with data. How to export posts from a topic in .xlsx format.
